RESTON, Va. - Sept. 1, 2016 - MantisNet, a solutions-based company producing real-time network insight and defense through continuous monitoring of live traffic and advanced cyber security systems, announced today the addition of Michael Reed as Vice President of Engineering. In his role, Michael will execute product definition and specification, prototyping, software development and specialization development talent acquisition; oversee full-product lifecycle through production, and participate in select customer deployment engagements.
Reed has served at Verite Group, Inc. the Naval Research Laboratory and Extreme Networks, among others. Recently, Michael worked at Spara where he served as the Principal Engineer, Program Manager and Technical Director.
Throughout his career, Reed’s responsibilities have spanned a vast range, including re-architecturing of major components for security, large-scale data acquisition and analysis, rapid prototyping of tools and utilities, implementation of Onion Routing on Linux 2.x and Solaris 2.x platforms, production system development and support for both classified and unclassified government customers, among others.

Reed’s skills go beyond technology as he is a featured author and fluent in German. Michael received his undergraduate from Cornell University and his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland.
