The Time is Now For (MantisNet) 5G Observability
Forecasts through 2025 Show a 3x Increase in Global 5G Adoption, with 85% of Global Carrier Capex Spending Earmarked for 5G

5g adoption 2025According to recent market data from GSMA Intelligence (www.gsmaintelligence.com/) the tipping point for the global transition to 5G applications has been reached. As a result, the roll-out of 5G deployments is poised to dramatically accelerate over the next three years. In confirmation of these predictions, we’ve also seen numerous recent announcements about the acceleration of coverage and the 5G subscriber growth from carriers and service providers around the world around (see AT&T, Vodafone, Telefonica, and Deutsche Telekom).

This is great news for MantisNet, our partners, and the entire 5G ecosystem. Since we first announced the MantisNet CVF® platform we have emphasized that MantisNet technology was ahead of the market. This was because existing forms of 2G/3G/4G monitoring technologies cannot meet the demands of the underlying cloud-native infrastructure.

The big question has always been: when will the market demands resulting from new 5G applications necessitate the use of MantisNet technology? From our experience working with pre-eminent 5G technology providers and early-adopters, we have always known that the market for the MantisNet CVF® 5G observability platform would “take off” once the “inflection point” of demand for these advanced 5G services, and the resulting Capex spending for 5G infrastructure was reached.

Now, the race is on! The next three-years are forecasted to experience the most explosive period of 5G application growth and the supporting technology investments. This is especially relevant when you consider that MantisNet CVF® observability tools uniquely solve the most fundamental visibility requirements for these next generation 5G services, which will be critical to supporting this explosive period of 5G/IoT and fixed wireless deployment.

According to the GSMA Market Data, through 2025:

  • Global wireless operator revenues will go from $1.08tn to $1.16tn.
  • Global mobile subscribers will increase from 5.3b to 5.7b (70% of total)
  • Global 5G penetration will go from 8% to 25%(!!!)
  • Global operator Capex will account for $620bn of spending through 2025.
  • 85% of global telecom Capex ($496b) is expected to be spent on 5G infrastructure and services

Additionally, there are significant technology trends:

  • 5G SA deployments are ramping up globally
  • Open RAN (ORAN) is going into deployment in all leading markets
  • Service operations automation is seen as the #1 technology opportunity driving Opex
  • Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and Private 5G are high priority business initiatives

Looking more closely at the geographic specific data:
